What is Florida EBT?

Before we begin our instructions on how to replace a lost EBT card in Florida, we’re going to provide you with a brief overview about Florida EBT.

An EBT (electronic benefits transfer) card is a plastic card that acts like a debit card and is used to distribute public assistance benefits.

In Florida, the EBT Card is used for the electronic delivery of food stamps (SNAP benefits) and cash assistance (TANF) benefits.

Once you are approved for food stamps or one of the programs listed above, you will receive your benefits in your Florida EBT Card each month.

The Florida EBT card, also known as ACCESS Florida EBT, is issued by the Florida Department of Child and Families (DCF) to distribute government assistance benefits to recipients.

How to use ACCESS Florida EBT

ACCESS Florida EBT Benefits can be redeemed directly from your EBT card at any Quest ATM, an eligible store, or online.

Your EBT card is just like a standard plastic debit card. When you receive your card, you must activate it by registering a 4-digit security PIN.

If for whatever reason, your Florida EBT card has been lost, stolen or is no longer working, immediately follow the steps highlighted below. This will protect the food stamps and cash assistance benefits on your Florida EBT card. This is particularly important if your FL EBT Card account has been compromised.
