What is the Florida EBT Card?

Before we begin our instructions on how to check your Florida EBT Card balance, we’re going to provide you with a brief overview about Florida EBT.

An EBT Card, also known as an electronic benefits transfer card is a plastic card that acts just like a normal bank debit card.

In Florida, the EBT Card is used for the electronic delivery of food stamp (SNAP) benefits and cash assistance (TAC/TANF) benefits.

The Florida EBT card, also known as ACCESS Florida EBT, is issued by the Florida Department of Child and Families (DCF).

The Florida DCF is responsible for administering government assistance benefits to eligible households in Florida.

Once you are approved for food stamps or cash assistance, you will receive your benefits in your Florida EBT Card account each month.

Florida EBT benefits are deposited into your account by 6AM on your scheduled EBT deposit day.

Any unused benefits from the month will rollover to the following month. EBT Card accounts without any purchases will have their benefits expire after 274 days.

If you have been approved for benefits and need help accessing the balance on your Florida EBT Card, continue reading below.
